Creating Health and Curing Cancer Are Not the Same!
Hello and welcome, this is for those people who have discovered that they have cancer and have a determined desire to be cancer free and healthy. This will only appeal to a minority of cancer sufferers, those that want a deeper understanding and are willing to change. This article is related to ‘The 5 Step Cancer Healing Process’, this is the essential process that one needs to undergo, in order to be healthy and healed from cancer.
The majority of people, who have been shocked to have a diagnosis of cancer given to them, are understandably overwhelmed and distraught at this turn of events. What happens now, is that to escape from the pain of fear and uncertainty that is consuming their life, they seek to take actions, that is, to do something. This “I must do something” is vital to alleviate the depression that would be all consuming if nothing was done. The ‘doing something’ though has a terrible cost. Let me explain, doing something and taking actions, seems logically enough that you are doing them to beat cancer, survive cancer, get rid of the cancer, fight the cancer etc. You may think that the purpose of taking these actions is as above but usually the actions are taken to alleviate the uncertainty that you were plunged in to.
When you were in a state of shock following your diagnosis, your unconscious mind was flooded with the meanings, perceptions and beliefs that you held about ‘Cancer’ and I suspect the conclusion you had, is that Cancer kills, Cancer is a Death sentence etc. Now it is widely accepted in the media and socially that there is no cure for cancer, and you would not know, how to cure cancer or heal cancer, so you have a death sentence and no escape. This of course is extremely depressing and fearful, for you do not want to die. Because you do not have the information that would lead you to escape the death sentence, you are in a dilemma.
Stay with me here, for I am describing what goes on at different levels of the brain and though you may disagree with some of my words, I am describing the processes that occur, usually at the unconscious level, which you will be unaware of. The dilemma is that the brain can only process and make conclusions from the information that you have. What certainties is your brain presented with when you were diagnosed, 1. You have Cancer. 2. Cancer kills (etc). It is important to be blunt with you, because at the level of brain processing, it is computer like, totally unemotional, just data processing. So the only conclusion your brain makes and accepts, is that death will occur as a result of the diagnosis. The only variable is time. Do you remember saying to yourself “I am going to die”, did you ask the doctor “How much time do I have?” The first conclusion or certainty that you recorded in your brain is that you will die. To accept this emotionally is depressing and the depression that would follow, would lead to an even more premature death than the cancer and far more painful.
So avoiding the overwhelming pain of the depression, is the reason that you take the actions, treatments, cures etc. You may feel that you are trying to survive cancer and though this is what the conscious objective may be, the unconscious will be aware of the original certainties and conclusion and so your body will conform to this. Which means, that the actions will have the affect of alleviating depression, pain and mental anguish, and not returning to health, being cancer free etc.
That is why there is a plethora of cures (they probably all work some of the time, placebos work), everyone (most) is looking for a cure, everyone is looking for certainty, everyone is basing these searches on the original beliefs that cancer kills and is a deadly disease. Cancer is not a deadly disease, cancer is a symptom, cancer is the body’s response to all the information that is relevant at the particular time.
What is cancer? is explored in ‘The 5 Step Cancer Healing Process’. The human body can be seen as an information transfer machine. By this I mean that information (data) is the governing principle. You are exactly as you are now, purely because you are the sum of all the information that pertains to you. You, your life expression, your state of health and this thing called cancer, is the result or if you like, the perfect harmonization of all that information. There is nothing wrong, there is no malfunction, there is only resonance with information. Stay with me, it may sound weird and metaphysical etc but hang in there.
The totality of You includes the state of health that you are in, this thing called cancer is in perfect harmony with the story of you (which is the totality of the information). The process is always perfect, that is, the result always equals the (totality of) information.
If you want a different result, health for instance, then you need to transform the information. Information arranges itself into patterns. It is the patterns or schemas that create results, as information is neutral/static and patterns have force and movement, they are like instructions, they produce effects. The state of affairs that you label cancer, is a result of patterns, change the patterns and you get a different result, change the patterns to ones that result in health and that is what you will get as a result.
So what information patterns create health, this is of vitally importance, for you cannot cure cancer, you can only create health or create ill health. When you have created health, then naturally you will not have cancer. If you have the purpose of curing your cancer, then: –
You will manifest resistance, for you are trying to be in disharmony with the existing information patterns.
You believe the cancer is the cause and not a symptom. Therefore the cause remains unchanged and still present.
You are divorced and ignorant of your cancer. The cancer cells are your cells responding perfectly to the information pattern. As they are your cells they partly make up the totality that is you.
You are attacking a part of yourself when you attack the cancer.
You can only create, you are not creating anything when you attempt to cure cancer, you are simply fighting shadows.
You may say ‘that when I cure cancer, then I will be healthy’ this seems logical but the body’s self healing system is the only system that can heal you. This is a totally unconscious process and at this deep level, curing cancer simply does not compute, for how can it cure something that is already operating perfectly, there is nothing to cure. It will simply keep the status quo; there is nothing new to create.
Back to – what information patterns create health;-
Most importantly, there has to be a reason for changing patterns, you may say that “I don’t want to die”, sometimes this can create enough impetus to change but usually it does not create a reason to change patterns and be healthy, because it is only stating the status quo, you also didn’t want to die before you knew you had cancer. It doesn’t necessarily lead anywhere. Are you happy to have a poor quality of life, ill health and pain etc, as long as you don’t die?
So what reason have you to be healthy? Are you surprised by your response or lack of response, to this question? So create a reason, a massive one, one that compels and motivates you, one that forces you to break out of that cocoon that is surrounding you. Discover a reason and a purpose for living and living Well! And then decide to go for it! 100%.
Healthy mind, emotions, beliefs, thoughts and attitude. This is a biggie, you have to get rid of your emotional baggage, your self destructive thoughts, emotional stress etc. This is an absolute essential component and where the majority of information needs to be transformed. ‘The 5 Step Cancer Healing Process’ on my website explores in depth this area.
Healthy fresh organic food, the more man has interfered with it, the more carcinogenic information in the form of toxins there is.
Unpolluted environment.
Minimal stress in daily living.
If you have these health creating patterns, then the cause of this state that you find yourself in, which includes cancer, will be eliminated and there will be no reason to have cancer. The cancer cells will return to normal cells and you will be in harmony with the new information pattern.

Dog Profile: The Bichon Frise
As a dog that was created specifically as a human companion, the Bichon Frise is a happy affectionate little dog, with a long and rather interesting history.
The breed originated in Spain during the 13th century, and is thought to have been created by crossing Poodles and Barbet Water Spaniels. They were used as an item of trade by Spanish sailors and as a result reached many European countries. In France, they became a particular favorite of the aristocracy, and by the 16th century, the Bichon was entrenched as the favorite dog of the French royal court.
The Bichon has always had an unsurpassed ability for learning tricks, and for this reason has always been a popular performing dog with circuses and other entertainment troupes.
The Bichon Frise is classified in the toy dog group and is normally between 9 and 12 inches in height at the shoulder. These sturdy little dogs can weigh up to 12 pounds, and have a soft, silky coat which is usually white in color but may have apricot or cream shading around the ears. The coat is considered to be hypoallergenic, making them ideal pets for allergy sufferers.
Given their history as companion dogs it is no surprise that these little guys are renowned for their winning personalities. They form close bonds with their people and are known to be excellent with children. They also generally get on well with other pets in the household.
Training one of these dogs is generally a breeze, as they are very intelligent and biddable. Surprisingly though, the Bichon is difficult to potty train.
As with most small dogs, the Bichon enjoys a relatively long life and it is not unusual for these dogs to live beyond 15 years. They are not immune to health problems though, with cancer, cataracts, epilepsy and fleabite allergies among the conditions that can occur. Another common concern is a disease called liver shunts, which requires surgery to correct.
Grooming a Bichon Frise is a labor intensive task requiring daily brushing as well as regular clipping to keep the coat in shape. The dog can be bathed in required, but don’t do this more than once a month as the skin is quite sensitive. Always use a mild dog shampoo, never a human shampoo.
It goes without saying that this is an indoor dog. The Bichon is perfect for apartment living and needs to always be close to his human family. They are quite prone to separation anxiety, and should therefore not be left unattended for long periods.
As with all dogs, the Bichon needs regular exercise, and while much of this can be met with indoor games, you’ll still need to get your dog outdoors for a short walk daily.

Cancer Recovery – Should You Exercise After Cancer Surgery?
The answer to this question is yes, no or know. Properly prescribed exercises can be very helpful for a cancer patient in many ways, but there are several exercises that can actually be detrimental to particular cancer patients. Knowing who to go to for guidance is the key to cancer wellness.
The majority of fitness experts have not been trained to work with various cancer survivors. Usually the fitness instructors mean well when prescribing exercises to their client, but without the proper training and knowledge the exercises they recommend could cause lymphedema, dehydration, more fatigue, infections, bone damage, nutritional deficiencies and more. Many cancer patients are prone to lymphedema. Stage 3 lymphedema, also called elephantiasis, is irreversible and the affected limb becomes hard and swollen. Most exercise classes and personal trainers have clients perform repetitive lifting and/or heavy weight training, both of these can cause lymphedema in various types of cancer patients.
Physical assessments before starting an exercise program are also very important. Limitations in flexibility should be tested with a goniometer. Flexibility issues should always be addressed before starting a strength program. Many breast cancer patients and others have range of motion issues and their exercise prescription should include flexibility exercises.
The treatment of diverse cancers and the way the body responds to the cancer and treatment varies greatly. An example of this would be if a client had stomach cancer and has early or late dumping syndrome. Late dumping syndrome clients should exercise right after they eat and the fitness instructor should look out for excessive sweating or tremors. If the client has early dumping syndrome they should eat several hours before exercising and fitness instructor should monitor heart for irregular heartbeats, and watch for dizziness and shortness of breath.
The proper exercise for cancer patients can actually help reduce pain and fatigue, increase range of motion and prevent lymphedema. Exercise can also increase treatment tolerance, prevent and/or manage: osteoporosis, diabetes and damage to the heart and lungs. The exercises prescribed should depend on the type of cancer, operation procedure, treatment, physician clearance and assessment performed by Cancer Exercise Specialist. Various forms of yoga, Pilates, weight training and cardiovascular exercises are often recommended for the client. Many beneficial exercises can be performed in bed or while sitting for the client who is not ready to stand.
All cancers are not the same and the treatment, side effects and complications are very different. A Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES) will know the exercise contraindications for 25 types of cancer, surgery, reconstruction and treatments. The Cancer Exercise Specialist will have been trained to prevent and identify lymphedema, avoid injury and maximize the benefits of exercise. Your Dog’s Mental Health
Is your dog getting enough exercise? The answer is probably yes. But what about mental exercise? The answer is probably no! Most dogs do not get enough mental stimulation to keep them healthy and happy. Dogs, like humans, need to be mentally stimulated or they become mentally lazy. Can you imagine just laying around the house all day, eating and sleeping? It might sound wonderful for a few days but after awhile you would feel like your brain was turning to mush! Dogs are no different. When they become bored that’s when the behavioral problems, like chewing shoes and furniture, start.
It’s not necessary to spend hours each day providing mental stimulation. You can exercise your dog‘s brain as easily as teaching them a few tricks and practising them a few minutes each day. Simple tricks like sit, stay, come and rollover will get them using their grey matter. Patience is the key and in no time at all they will have learned the commands. Even if they do not master them perfectly they’ll have been working their brain and obedience will improve. Everybody wins!
You can also exercise body and brain at the same time by playing simple games like fetch with your pooch. For a change, instead of just tossing the ball and waiting for it to be returned, try hiding it in some tall grass or behind a tree. Let Rover try using his keen sense of smell to sniff it out. Again, even if the ball isn’t returned every time at least your dog is being challenged mentally and all that running around will keep them in good shape physically. And as a bonus he’ll be ready for a nap when he comes back inside.
Another easy way to get them thinking is to provide one of the readily available food dispensing toys. These rubber toys can be stuffed with tasty treats and offer relief from boredom as your dog tries to figure out how to retrieve the snack. This is a great way for a little mental stimulation on rainy days when outdoor activities aren’t possible.
Whatever you choose to do to keep your dog healthy both physically and mentally, remember, it is an ongoing process. Doing a little something with them everyday throughout their whole life will lead to a strong and rewarding relationship between the both of you. Your dog will love the training and exercise sessions because, most of all, all he wants is to spend time with you!

This book delineates Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) counseling techniques. Supported by case examples, the book explains how to select, train and evaluate an animal for therapy work. The book examines ethical considerations and risk management, provides a history of AAT, and discusses the latest empirical research in the field. The author also includes guidelines for establishing a university-based program for AAT training. Sample forms to be used in screening clients and recording session data are included as well as a series of separate illustrations (line drawings of animals) to facilitate some of the recommended AAT techniques. This book is designed for use in training courses for AAT in counseling and related programs (such as social work, psychology, and rehabilitation counseling). To date, there is no book dedicated to teaching techniques specific to AAT. This book will fill that need.

Liver Cancer Tell Tale Signs and Symptoms
Liver is one of the important parts of our body that secrets bile juice and helps in the digestion of the food we eat. When cells in the liver start growing at an abnormal rate causing problems in the normal functioning of the liver then it should be suspected as liver cancer. It is very difficult to identify liver cancer at an early stage as it shows no signs and symptoms. Often the symptoms shown are also misleading and felt as some other health problem.
Scientific research shows that the causes of liver cancer are obesity, hepatitis B or C infection, extreme alcohol use and forming of Aflatoxin B1 from a mold called Aspergillus in our body. This mold enters our body through food. Coming to types of liver cancer the most common type is Hepato cellular cancer also called as Carcinoma. The other types are Cholangio carcinoma, Hepato blastoma and Angio sarcoma.
As told no particular symptoms are shown in the early stages of this cancer. But as the cancer develops then we can see some symptoms like pain in the abdomen. The pain is because of swelling of liver due to cancer cells. The other common symptom is Jaundice. Jaundice causes yellowing of skin or whitening of eyes. In the early stages we can see discoloration of skin.
Usually upset of abdomen is also observed in the cancer of the liver patients. This makes the patient lose the urge for food which leads to abnormal weight loss. Patients may feel unusually nauseous and may begin to vomit. As the disease progress one may observe fluids forming in the abdomen. Most of the times patients suffer with fever because of which patient may get headache, chills or sweating. Other common symptom is white and chalky stools.
Even though it is not possible to diagnose cancer of the liver in the early stages it is better to go to a doctor and undergo required tests when any of the above symptoms are observed. The chances of cure are high when liver cancer is in early stage than in advanced stage. In advanced stage the option is liver transplantation. With liver transplantation you are put on a waiting list until a compatible liver is found.
Best rout to take would be to go to the doctor when you are feeling bad. That way they can do the necessary test to see what the problem is and how best to treat it.

Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia – A Very Scarce Disease
Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia is a cancer that is named for Jan Waldenstrom, the Scandinavian Doctor who first discovered and learnt about the disease in the early 1940′s. The type of cancer is non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and it is a very rare disease with some papers stating numbers of between 1000 & 1600 diagnosed cases of Waldenstrom’s occurring in America every year.
what causes Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia like many other cancers is unknown although it is believed that a change in DNA could be a cause. In spite of this lack of certainty on the causes of Waldenstrom’s there are thought to be factors which increase the likelihood of developing the disease. the majority of cases of waldenstroms macroglobulinemia occur in those over the age of 50 and the average age of occurence is 61. Incidence of the disease is almost twice as much in men than women. The condition is also inherited which means that those with family who have Waldenstrom’s or a type of lymphatic cancer are more likely to contract the condition.
An first diagnosis of Waldenstrom’s is complex because there is usually an absence of symptoms early on. Usually the first indication of Waldenstrom’s comes from routine examinations showing atypical results. These irregular results could be a high level of Igm within the blood stream or hyper viscosity which is another indication of the illness. Diagnosis could also be made if swollen lymph nodes are found. This is the same as if a Bigger than usual Spleen or liver is discovered. A bone marrow biopsy can also be used to diagnose Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia.
Waldenstrom’s forecast is very diverse between victims. Because the disease is very unfrequent there has not been a huge amount of research to estimate the correct survival rates of victims with the ailment. The International Prognostic Scoring System for Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia aims to assess the long term impact of Waldenstrom’s. Five to nine years is the generally accepted survival period of those that have been diagnosed with Waldenstrom’s although owing to that there are very few initial symptoms, some sufferers can live with the disease for a number of years before getting diagnosed.
The sign of illness or problem of Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia start in the white blood cells. They cause these blood cells to become abnormal and they enlarge within the organs or bone marrow like the spleen/liver. These abnormal white blood cells compound and therefore reduce the amount of other blood cells such as the red blood cells. When people have a low level of red blood cells they suffer from anaemia which causes them to feel drained and weak. Waldenstrom’s also reduces the amount of healthy white blood cells which reduces the bodies ability to fight off flu, germs and other infection. These symptoms are often not seen in the early stages of Waldenstrom’s with most symptoms not becoming apparent until the illness is reasonably advanced.
In the advanced stages of the illness, symptoms are varied between sufferers. Alot of the symptoms are the same as those of other non-Hodgkin lymphomas which include, swollen lymph nodes, fever, tiredness and weight loss, enlarged lymph nodes, fevers, fatigue and weight loss, enlarged lymph nodes, fevers, tiredness and loss of weight and swollen lymph nodes, fevers, fatigue and weight loss, tiredness, weight loss and enlarged lymph nodes, fevers, tiredness and weight loss lymph nodes lymph nodes.
Another symptom is hyper-viscosity or clotting of the blood which occurs because Waldenstrom’s causes an overproduction of Igm. This thickening of the blood causes issues with both circulation and the nervous system. If circulation to the brain is affected which may cause symptoms similar to a stroke.
Circulation problems can also lead to Raynaud’s phenomenon which causes a tightening of blood vessels which delays the movement of blood throughout the body. This can cause circulation to the extremities of the human being, the hands and feet, to get cut off.

The Prognosis Of Burkitts Lymphoma
Burkitts lymphoma is an exceedingly rare type of cancer. Less than a thousand cases are diagnosed yearly in the United States of America.
However, in some other parts of the world where it is endemic, such as certain parts of central Africa, Burkitt’s lymphoma is very common among children.
Burkitt’s lymphoma is a Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL) cancer that affects B lymphocyte cells. There are 3 distinct varieties of this disease:
-Immunodeficiency-related: This form of the condition occurs most often in HIV patients and similarly immunocompromised individuals such as recent transplant recipients. The condition may signal the onset of AIDS.
-Sporadic: This variant of the disease is found outside of the African continent. It is akin to endemic Burkitt’s lymphoma and is associated with immune system compromise.
-Endemic: This form of the disease is the so-called “African” form and is responsible for the majority of malignant cases in central African children. This form of the disease may affect several areas but most often impacts the jaw, ovaries, breasts, kidneys, facial bone. The Epstein-Barr virus, which is the virus responsible for mononucleosis is closely associated with Burkitt’s.
The symptoms of Burkitts lymphoma may include painless, swollen lymph nodes (this is characteristic of lymphomas in general), hardening and/or rapid growth of the lymph nodes. Pain in the abdomen is another possible sign.
This disease can be diagnosed by a variety of modes such as:
-X-ray of the chest
-Blood Count
-Spinal fluid analysis
-Lymph node and/or bone marrow biopsy
-CT and/or PET scan
Treatment of this disease usually involves intense chemotherapy. The earlier that chemotherapy is started, the better the outlook as this is a particularly aggressive form of cancer. However, some cancers which grow rapidly such as Burkitt’s, respond more quickly to treatment. This can actually harm the patient through a process called tumor lysis syndrome, in which the body is subjected to the byproducts of the breakdown of cancer cells which may cause any of a host of serious complications such as severe electrolyte disruption and renal failure.
Combination chemotherapy may be supplemented with radiotherapy, dietary interventions, nootropics, supplements, exposure to natural sunlight (for vitamin D). Surgery is often indicated for the removal of tumors and a bone marrow transplant may be necessary in the case that the bone marrow is affected.

Burkitt’s lymphoma depends upon the risk-factor of the patient. Caught early (low-risk or low/intermediate risk), combination chemotherapy which has produced survival rates in the 90% range. These figures decline significantly for higher risk cases; ~70% for high/intermediate risk and ~30% for high risk. The total 5 year survival rate for adults with Burkitts lymphoma is about 50 percent.
Jonathyn David writes about Burkitts Lymphoma on his blog, The Symptoms of Lymphoma In Women.

Esophageal Cancer: Incidence, Risk Factors and Protective Factors
One of the least studied cancer in humans, albeit one of the most deadly types, is esophageal cancer. The overall five-year survival rate of persons with this cancer type is only 16% among those residing in the United States of America and 10% of persons with esophageal cancer from Europe. Cancer of the esophagus is the sixth most common cause of death from cancer and the eighth most common cancer worldwide.
The incidence of esophageal cancer among geographic regions worldwide is strikingly different. Northeastern Iran was reported to have the highest incidence of this cancer (206 and 262 per 100,000 person-years among males and females) in the world. The risk of acquiring cancer of the esophagus is 20 times higher among residents of China as compared to those residing in Western Africa. The incidence of this type of cancer in Taiwan is 9 per 100,000 in 2006 while in Jiangsu, China, incidence is 30 per 100,000 in 1990-1992. The wide difference in incidence rates in different geographic regions suggests that environmental factors may play a role in the etiology of this disease.
Aside from geographic region, several factors may increase one’s risk of developing cancer of the esophagus. Alcohol consumption increases the likelihood of developing esophageal cancer. The more alcoholic beverage a person consumes, the higher the risk for developing the disease. Similarly, tobacco consumption is also associated with this cancer type. Tobacco consumption brings nitrosamines in contact with the walls of the esophagus which induces carcinogenesis or development of cancer cells. Like alcohol consumption, the risk of acquiring this cancer increases with longer duration of smoking and higher consumption of tobacco products per day. If heavy alcohol consumers are tobacco users as well, the risk for esophageal cancer increases up to 20 to 50 times as compared to those who are non-smokers and non-alcoholic beverage drinkers.
Certain diseases, conditions and medical procedures may also predispose one to developing esophageal cancer such as achalasia, esophageal diverticuli, caustic injury to the esophagus, and history of radiotherapy in the mediastinum. Socio-economic status may also play apart in developing esophageal cancer. Black Americans in the low-income bracket were shown to be 8.0 times more likely to acquire this type of cancer as compared to those in high-income brackets.
How can we prevent esophageal cancer? Scientists recommend consuming food rich in high fiber such as whole grain cereals, fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. Research on the effects of green tea suggests that regular consumption may prevent this type of cancer. Of course, quitting cigarette smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages moderately will definitely prevent one from developing this imperiling disease.

Role of Modified Citrus Pectin in Cancer Treatment Presented at International Oncology Conference
I recently discussed the principles of integrative medicine in oncology and shared the latest research on the role of Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) in the treatment of cancer at an international oncology conference in Rhodes, Greece. This conference, titled “The 16th World Congress on Advances in Oncology and 14th International Symposium on Molecular Medicine,” brought together hundreds of cancer researchers, oncologists and medical professionals from around the world to share the latest information and advancements in the treatment and prevention of cancer. The international event was organized by the International Journal of Oncology, Oncology Reports, International Journal of Molecular Medicine, and Molecular Medicine Reports, and held in Rodos Palace Resort on the island of Rhodes, Greece. The scientific program included presentations by scientists and medical doctors on topics in genetics, immunology, experimental oncology and brain tumors, among others.
For this presentation, I drew upon my 25+ years of experience as an integrative physician and researcher to discuss the energetic and philosophical principles of integrative medicine in oncology and how to apply these principles to cancer prevention and treatment. This included the latest body of research on Modified Citrus Pectin and novel polybotanical formulas in suppressing the growth and proliferation of cancer.
What is Integrative Medicine?
Integrative medicine is a patient-driven, unbiased and individualized form of medicine that combines both conventional and holistic approaches to treat people as a whole, rather than focusing solely on diseases and symptoms. It emphasizes a partnership between the patient and the practitioner in the healing process, to create individualized programs and promote the body’s inherent healing response. In my presentation, I discussed how integrative medicine takes into account the whole person – mind, body and spirit – to integrate both conventional and alternative therapies into uniquely tailored health protocols. True integrative medicine includes treatments and approaches that are synergistically combined for clinical outcome that is greater than the sum of its parts. This can include a combination of conventional drugs, exercise, supplements and nutrition – but it is also the merging of analytical conceptual thinking with a limitless ‘non-conceptual’ open-mindedness where anything is possible. Such a balance paves the way to true healing.
Research on Modified Citrus Pectin and Polybotanicals
I shared recent research on the role of Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) and polybotanicals in the treatment of cancer, and explained specifically how MCP directly attacks cancer by binding to galectin-3 molecules (“sticky” surface molecules that promote angiogenesis and metastasis) and blocking their harmful effects, so cancer cells cannot spread and grow.
Over the last decade, a large body of peer-reviewed research has revealed that many of our most serious health concerns are associated with elevated levels of galectin-3 molecules. Modified Citrus Pectin – derived from citrus peels – is the only proven natural galectin-3 inhibitor and thus offers a powerful and all-natural way to address elevated galectin-3 for cancer, metastasis, and other chronic life threatening illnesses.
How Does MCP Work?
Food-grade pectin is a complex carbohydrate, a soluble form of fiber, and is not digested by humans. However, when citrus pectin is modified to reduce the length of the fiber chains and the amount of bulky cross-linking side groups, it can be made absorbable. As a result, MCP enters the circulatory system and reaches targeted areas of the body. MCP is structurally a poly galacturonic acid fiber, made up of glactose subunits, which has been shown to suppress cancer growth and metastases in multiple preclinical and clinical studies. In prostate cancer patients, MCP has been shown to increase the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) doubling time, and has also been shown to increase the quality of life in people with advanced stage cancers of multiple types of solid tumors. The anticancer effects are attributed to MCP being a natural ligand for galectin-3 molecules, inhibiting the over-expressed galectin-3 molecules that are present on the surface of cancer cells and circulating in the blood. Galectin-3 has been implicated in multiple pathological processes including abnormal proliferation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, inflammation and fibrosis.
I also presented recent research on the successful treatment of highly invasive, hormone-dependent and independent prostate and breast cancer cells using MCP, a novel poly-botanical formula for prostate cancer and another formula for breast cancer. These combinations significantly further enhanced inhibition of the invasive behavior of breast and prostate cancer cells, respectively. I concluded my presentation with an explanation of the role of the botanical extract Honokiol, and its synergistic effects in combination with polybotanicals, chemotherapy agents and MCP for the treatment of cancer.
