What Cancers Are Common in Dogs And What to Watch Out For

Dogs like humans contract life-threatening and aggressive diseases like cancer. According to veterinarian Dr. Mark Silberman, some dog breeds are at a higher risk of certain cancers than others.

Common Cancers in Popular Dog Breeds

Beagle – Mast cell tumor, Sebaceous gland tumor, Haemangiopericytoma, Perianal gland adenoma, Lymphosarcoma Boston – Terrier Mast cell tumor, Melanoma, Fibroma, Primary brain tumor Dalmatian – Actinic keratosis, Cutaneous haemangioma German Shepherd – Colorectal neoplasia, Sweat gland tumor, Trichoepithelioma, Anal sac adenocarcinoma, Cutaneous haemangioma, Lymphoma, Myxoma, Nasal cavity tumors, Insulinoma, Limbal melanoma, Testicular neoplasia, Thymoma   Greyhound – None, though there are signs of haemangiosarcoma Golden Retriever – Mast cell tumor, Sweat gland tumor, Trichoepithelioma, Melanoma, Haemangioma, Histiocytoma, Fibroma, Lymphosarcoma, Nasal cavity tumors, Thyroid neoplasia, Insulinoma, Primary brain tumor, Fibrosarcoma Jack Russell – Pituitary tumor Labrador Retriever – Mast cell tumor, Cutaneous histiocytoma, Sq. cell carcinoma, Nasal cavity tumors, Insulinoma, Lymphosarcoma, Limbal melanoma, Oral Fibrosarcoma, Thymoma Maltese – None Poodle – Basal cell tumor, Trichoepithelioma, Sebaceous gland tumor, Sq. cell carcinoma, Insulinoma, Pituitary tumor, Adrenalcortical tumor, Lymphosarcoma, Limbal melanoma, Oral melanoma, Testicular neoplasia Scottish Terrier – Mast cell tumor, Melanoma, Histiocytoma, Squamous cell carcinoma, Lymphoma, Primary brain tumor Shih Tsu – Sebaceous gland tumor, Perianal gland adenomas Yorkshire Terrier – Keratocanthoma, Pituitary tumor, Testicular neopla

Warning Signs

Skin cancers rank the most common cancer in dogs, while bone, blood, gastrointestinal tract and lymph nodes are also sites where cancer cells develop. Cancer accounts for almost half of the deaths of dogs older than 10 years of age. Watch out for these signs and behaviour changes which are indications that you should schedule a physical checkup at your vet’s office as soon as possible: an abnormal new lump, changes to an existing lump, sores that refuse to heal, discharge or bleeding from any opening (nose, mouth, urinary, etc), difficulty in passing motion, difficulty in breathing, vomiting and diarrhea, limping, foul breath, body odour, and loss of stamina. Remember that early detection increases your canine’s chances of survival.

Diet and Cancer

Amongst other factors, poor diet and nutrition based on processed foods are largely blamed for our modern day health problems faced by humans. Similarly this is what our furry pets are facing too – they rarely eat raw and are eating heavily processed dry foods. A change in diet especially during the time when they are suffering from cancer plays a key role in helping the animal fight cancer.

When his 11-year-old Lhasa Apso, Fergie, was diagnosed with lymphoma, a deadly cancer, Dr. Steven Eisen decided not to rely on standard veterinary care but to apply his own specialist expertise to the case and to treat his dog holistically. He knew from his prior research that a skillfully tailored diet, plus natural supplements, would often achieve cures without the downsides of conventional medicine. His instincts were validated: Fergie was restored to health, confounding her vet’s prognosis that she would live no more than six weeks by surviving for almost two and a half years and reaching normal life expectancy for her breed. Dog Cancer: The Holistic Answer describes in detail the broad protocol Dr. Eisen used to rescue Fergie from her death sentence and explains how to customize it for one’s own dog. While acknowledging that each owner must make a personal decision on the relative merits of conventional and holistic approaches, he presents a powerful case for questioning the use of toxic, invasive, and high-priced methods that too often end in grief. Unlike most books on dog cancer treatments, which are overstuffed and overwhelming to the average dog owner, this guide is tightly focused on the need to act wisely right away. In just 80 pages, Dr. Eisen clearly explains the five steps of the healing protocol, beginning with the elimination of toxins from the body, from the immediate environment, and from every item the dog consumes; continuing with the easy preparation of an anti-cancer diet; then moving on to immune enhancement, enzyme therapy, and the use of vitamins, herbs, and other supplements. The totality of information distilled by Dr. Eisen cannot currently be found in any other single source. Certain key transformative supplements, for example, are overlooked by every other book surveying the range of holistic options. For dog owners seeking a benign, proven approach to the healing of their pets’ cancer, this is the indispensable roadmap.

What Is Lymphatic Cancer (Lymphoma) and Its Treatment Effects?

Lymphatic is the of lymph nodes. Like all , it is the uncontrolled growth of cells in the vicinity of lymph nodes. Lymph nodes can be viewed as stopping points of . basically carries fighting soldiers to whatever areas of your body whenever the body area is invaded or requires help to fight foreign intruders. The is a network of ‘highways’ starting from below the chin to the back of the neck, to underneath the armpits and then to the groin area and connects to the spinal cord.

Lymphatic cancer develops as lumps at the node areas, typically behind the neck, armpits and groin areas. Not all lymphomas grow in detectable areas. Once a lump develops careful monitoring is required. Whenever a lump occurs, it can be caused by

1) viral infection, which can be easily cured by a course of antibiotics and usually last only a week or two,
2) Tuberculosis, which detected at early stages can easily be cured, and which will require more specialized medical care and treatment,
3) Cancer, which can only be confirmed by a biopsy. If there are several lumps that have been growing for some time, it is vital to get the lumps checked out by a Hematologist. Hematologists are specialized doctors dealing with blood disorders. is considered as a blood disorder. For other types of cancer, one would go to an oncologist.

Other noticeable signs are cold sweats at night, lost of appetite, drastic weight loss and lethargy. Sometimes these signs do not appear as in my case except for the lumps on base of the neck.
Like many other cancers, lymphomas are quite complicated and have different types and subtypes but generally lymphoma can be divided into two broad categories, namely Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins. Hodgkins lymphoma is much more curable and the prognosis is very good.

Conventional treatment applies for Lymphatic cancer – surgery and radiation – if the cancer is fairly isolated typically only in stage 1 (more on staging later). Chemotherapy followed by radiation for cancer that is not so widespread in the body. If the cancer is in a fairly advanced stage as in stage 3 and 4, then a full course of Chemotherapy treatment is required, as was in my case.

Staging in lymphoma is different from other types of cancer. Stage 1 is cancer found on one part in one section of the body either above or below the diaphragm. If the cancer has appeared in more than one place on same side of the diaphragm, then it has gone to stage 2. Stage 3 means the cancer has spread to the abdomen and groin areas above and below the diaphragm. Stage 4 means that the cancer has been detected in the bone marrow. Stage 3 is already considered advanced stage.

Once a biopsy has confirmed that a tumour is cancerous, a CT scan is usually performed to stage the cancer. In lymphomas, a bone marrow tap is usually done to check if the bone marrow carries the cancer as well. CT scans are also performed at regular intervals during Chemotherapy to determine the treatment’s efficacy. If the current treatment is not effective, doctors will switch to another Chemotherapy regimen. At the end of the treatment, a final CT scan and PET scan are conducted to confirm absence of cancerous cells. The words “No cancerous cells detected” are the sweetest words one can ask for.

Chemotherapy treatment can last between six to eight months and a month more to recuperate from the onslaught of Chemotherapy. Most people will give up work to focus on the treatment. As in my case, Chemotherapy was once every two weeks. The first week immediately after Chemotherapy is the worst.

Most of the time, I was too weak to keep awake. As time passed, strength returned and by the second week, I could manage a short walk. After that the whole process starts all over again.
Towards the end of the Chemotherapy, the body would have been pretty badly savaged by the Chemo poison. One often lands up feeling very different after Chemotherapy, and it takes months to get back toany normalcy. The speed of recovery from Chemotherapy really depends on one’s physical and mental strength.

Chemotherapy, as it is often called – “It is a marathon”

Th Ong has fought cancer and won. He shares his story and his research to prevent cancer in the first place. He gives his book OnTopOfCancer for Free on the internet at http://ontopofcancer.blogspot.com/

Is Lympatic cancer Curable?

Since there are many different lymphatic cancers, the curability of each case will vary. When lymphoma is caught in an early stage, the cure rate is higher. However, the overall cure rate for all lymphomas, in both men and women, are quite high.

Cure Rates Based On Stage Of Detection

Localized (Still in one location, has not metastasized) – Accounts for 38% of all cases; 5-year survival rate is 82.1%

Distant (Metastasis has occured) – 45% of all lymphatic cancer cases are of this variety. 59.9% is the 5-year survival rate.

Regional (has spread to the regional lymph nodes – 77.5% is the cure rate and this type accounts for 19 of all lymphoma cases.

Unknown (Unstaged) – 67.5% cure rate accounting for 8% of cases.

There are a plethora of types of NHL () and the possibility of cure is dependent on the specific diagnosis.

Prognosis can also be different even in the same sub type of NHL.

Even in an individual who has a well-categorized case of lymphatic cancer, the survival rate and time can be hard to guess.

Is lymphatic cancer curable for anybody?

Cure rates depend greatly on many factors.

Thus, the answer is yes and no because it depends on what type of lymphoma one has, what lymphoma stages it may be in, the lymphoma grade, the general health of the patient, response to treatment and of course a dash of luck.

For people with quick growing lymphatic cancers types (for example, diffuse large B cell lymphoma), the lymphatic cancer can be potentially resolved with combination chemotherapy. However, for those individuals who respond poorly to treatment or have an early relapse, the lymphoma can be deadly in a rather short period of time. The slowly growing lymphomas are incurable with regular chemo, yet patients can live with them for years and years.

Much of deciding how to treat a specific lymphatic cancer  is based on simply observing the patient closely to see how the disease progresses so that an appropriate course of action can be prescribed.

Is Lymphatic cancer curable with chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, bone marrow transplants, etc?

Typically, one or a combination of these treatments will be used, depending upon the factors discussed above. The symptoms of lymphatic cancer in women will vary greatly but will not necessarily provide an indication of the level of advancement of the cancer nor the potential curability of the disease. Generally speaking, lymphatic cancer has a better than 50% cure rate and this is certainly something to be grateful for.

Tomas Schuman is a well-informed patient who writes about the Symptoms of Lymphoma in Women and attempts to provide a clear answer to the question: Is lymphoma curable?

Lymphatic Cancer Treatment

Lymphatic cancers (also known as lymphomas) are cancers of the body’s immune system. Lymphomas can be divided into two categories: Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which have slightly different characteristics and cancer treatment plans.

Surgery

Radiation

Chemotherapy

Immunotherapy

Stem Cell Transplants

treatment for most patients with early stage Hodgkin’s disease is high-energy radiation of the . Research has shown that radiation therapy to large areas at high doses (3,500 to 4,500 rads) is more effective in preventing relapse than radiation of the diseased nodes alone.

Combination chemotherapy also is effective in the treatment of early stage Hodgkin’s disease. In addition, chemotherapy is the treatment of choice for advanced (stages III and IV) Hodgkin’s disease and for patients who have relapsed after radiotherapy. Drugs and radiation are sometimes given together, mainly in treating patients with tumors in the chest or abdomen.

Lymphatic Cancer Natural Treatment

Lymphatic cancer or lymphoma is cancer of the lymph nodes or lymph glands. The most common treatments for lymph node cancer are chemotherapy and radiation. However, some people have opted for natural treatments in hopes to cure the disease.

Fruit Juices

To help in the lymphatic cancer treatment, fruit juices and water will help by detoxifying the body according to practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. While detoxifying your body it is advised not to consume any coffee or alcohol.

Vegetables

Traditional Chinese medical professionals believe there are many vegetables that can assist in detoxifying the body such as carrots, beets and mushrooms. By eating a combination of vegetables you are not only detoxifying your body, you are also healing your body of other possible ailments.

Echinacea

Echinacea may help in boosting the immune system and has been prescribed by professionals for several decades. Whether deciding to use all natural treatments or using medical treatments, echinacea will help in keeping the immune system working to prevent contracting other diseases and viruses.

Pau d’Arco

Pau d’arco will aide in preventing and coping with any pain that you may feel with lymphatic cancer. Pau d’arco is taken orally three to five times a day.

Red Clover

Red clover is taken orally. Red clover works as a detoxifier by ridding the body of unnecessary toxins in the body. Many physicians prescribe red clover when a patient is undergoing chemotherapy treatments, per “Herbal Remedies.”

Baths

Steam baths and cold baths help release tense muscles. The use of baths both steam and cold also help in detoxifying the body. Some choose to use salts in their baths to promote invigorating skin.

In human solid cancer, the lymph node (LN) status is the most important prognostic indicator for the clinical outcome of patients. Recent developments in the sentinel lymph node (SLN) concept and technology have resulted in the application of this revolutionary approach to define the first draining or SLN to which the cancer may have metastasized.

The underlying thesis in solid cancer biology is that metastasis generally starts in an orderly progression, spreading through the lymphatic channels to the SLN in the nearest LN basin. Thus, the logical approach is to harvest that specific SLN for thorough analysis. Because a tumorfree SLN is usually associated with a negative residual LN basin, a negative SLN is an excellent indication that micrometastasis has not occurred in the regional LNs.

When the SLN is involved, it is unknown whether or not metastasis is limited only to the SLN or if the disease has spread to the remainder of the nodal basin. For this reason, if a SLN is positive, a complete lymph node dissection is recommended. Therefore, selective sentinel lymphadenectomy (SSL) should be considered as a staging procedure so that patients with negative SLNs (about 80%) may be spared an extensive LN dissection. Malignant melanoma has been proven to be the most ideal tumor model to study the role of SLN.

Subsequently, SSL has been applied to breast cancer, colon cancer and other types of solid cancer. The multidisciplinary approach encompassing the surgeon, nuclear medicine physician, and pathologist is the key to such a successful procedure. Such a team can be formed readily with appropriate training. Beyond the technical aspects of harvesting the SLN, the implication of micrometastasis remains to be defined. Because the follow-up of melanoma and breast cancer patients after SSL is crucial, ongoing clinical trials are in progress to determine the biological and clinical significance of SLNs.

Although the concept of SLN is viable in other types of cancer, such as gynecological and gastrointestinal, the technical aspects of the procedure need to be perfected and verified. The most exciting possibility of SSL is that it will lead to early diagnosis of micrometastasis in regional LNs. Early diagnosis makes it useful as a clinical staging procedure, and opens up new opportunities to study micrometastasis and its evolution within the SLNs.

Examining the multifaceted aspects of micrometastasis, such as differentiation of different clones with respect to the primary tumor, acquisition of adhesion molecules, and host interaction with the microscopic tumor, will shed new light on the biology of early metastasis. New molecular and genetic tools may be used to dissect the mechanisms of lymphatic and hemo togenous routes of metastasis.

If such mechanisms can be understood, new therapeutic advances may be developed to prevent the process of micrometastasis. Rather than targeting larger tumor burdens such as Stage IV disease, targeted adjuvant clinical trials can be developed for high risk patients following definit ive surgical resection. SSL is a standard staging procedure for patients with melanoma and is rapidly evolving into a standard procedure for breast cancer as well.

The food we eat is important and a cancer patient it is crucial to overcome the disease. We are what we eat and our food is our fuel that keeps us healthy. The cancer rate in the last 30 to 40 years has increased alarmingly and this same period have changed our diets. We have moved from the food in its natural state to eat, which has been processed and for profit hindered by man.

Many people have actually reversed their cancer, by doing nothing more this change their eating habits. One hundred years ago as cancer rarely we all ate was fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, that flour, which was refined on grass not in the range of beef, fresh eggs from free raised was Sapphire coast and pasteurized cow’s milk, which was not. But today, most of our food is processed, it is laden with salt and refined sugar, and most of our contains many of thousand additives, food, to increase the durability and to sell it to be added.

The reason why cancer food is related to is that the typical Western diet strongly acid which means that there is an imbalance within the body. All food-producing is alkaline or acidic and we should be 80% of the remaining 20 percent can sour and alkaline show. Acid foods are flour, cake, biscuits and cookies, cheese, ice cream, bacon, alcohol and sugary drinks. The cancer creates the problem our unnatural diet and way of life.

A plant-based, of which many as cancer fight is the food we should eat foods have been tagged. This should be the mainstay of your diet and all these foods are alkaline. At the top of the list, cruciferous vegetables, which one of them, is broccoli all fresh fruit, salads, pumpkin, potatoes, tomatoes, onions and citrus fruit are other examples. A strict diet of our natural food, which is intended for people that can work wonders in eliminating cancer course.

The highest breast and prostate cancer to play in the world are in the land of Iceland. The people there are all the blame faulty genes, and it is simply something that is beyond their control, but the main reason the wrong eating habits is to blame. Lies so far North, they can not grow fresh fruits and vegetables, and what little is available is further south from warmer countries delivered. The diet of these people is food especially meat, fish and dairy products, and they very little of the plant based diet that is full of phytochemicals known to to keep cancer at Bay.

We all have from God was a self-help mechanism, that is your immune system and it will help the body, that of course remove cancer. You do this, the right food and other simple lifestyle changes.

Auriculotherapy And Phytotherapy Used in Cancer Treatment

or ear acupuncture is a therapy based on the piling of needles in the ear. Its historical roots date back to classical antiquity of Mediterranean people, Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, described the scarifications of the posterior ear against sexual impotence and treat sciatica. And again, Galen described the therapeutic use of scarifications in some diseases of the ear. Auriculotherapy is based on the principles of conventional medicine and Western uses of specific points of the ear that correspond to somatotopic areas distant parts of the body, such as the stomach, the muscles of the spine, and so on. By insertion of needles or other stimuli can cause reflexes that induce stimulation of neurogenic type in organs and tissues of the human body. In this discipline the therapeutic concept of the disease remains the same medicine, the only thing that changes is the way of doing therapy, then gastritis or gallstones are the same disease described in the treaties of Medicine officer, have nothing to do with particular beliefs or philosophies, and the same condition is given the same treatment.

The acupoint used to treat nausea in all these diseases is always the same and does not vary according to personality the patient’s eating habits, etc. Scientific research in this field is developing rapidly, although at the moment auriculotherapy in cancer patients has proved especially useful for pain treatment.

Phytotherapy deserves a separate mention because herbal medicine is the discipline that comes closest to the natural conventional medicine as it is based of course on the use of chemicals present in plants, with organic farming activities. Besides, just think that 30 – 40% of conventional drugs derived from herbal substances. Herbal medicine is the medical discipline so using medicinal plants and derivatives in prevention and treatment of diseases, in relation to the pharmacological properties of chemical constituents present in the plant, or better in the preparation used. It does not follow diagnostic or therapeutic methods different from those of scientific medicine. The medicinal plant, so it can simply be considered, a container of chemicals, sometimes isolated and used as such in therapy, in other cases the source of raw material for the production of drugs or as a basis for the production of herbal medicines themselves. Herbal medicine is a discipline particularly promising for the cure cancer, both as a preventive measure or as a complementary therapy to chemo and radiotherapy or surgery. It is used as an immunostimulant, for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and radiodermatitis and to combat certain symptoms such as fatigue, depression, constipation, etc.

There are also many studies that confirm the pre-clinical anticancer activities of substances present of many plants. The substances of plant origin may also be toxic, causing serious interactions with pharmaceutical drugs taken concurrently, or be responsible for allergic reactions. For these reasons, suitable extracts must always be used, quality controlled, standardized active ingredients, purified from useless or dangerous, and used only with medical prescription. For example, cancer patients often use honey and aloe smoothies (presented as a miracle cure for cancer!), not knowing that just some substances present in the plant cut the effectiveness of Chemotherapy.

Please consult an oncologist or more than one before you begin a cancer treatment.

Esophageal Cancer: Incidence, Risk Factors and Protective Factors

One of the least studied cancer in humans, albeit one of the most deadly types, is esophageal cancer. The overall five-year survival rate of persons with this cancer type is only 16% among those residing in the United States of America and 10% of persons with esophageal cancer from Europe. Cancer of the esophagus is the sixth most common cause of death from cancer and the eighth most common cancer worldwide.

The incidence of esophageal cancer among geographic regions worldwide is strikingly different. Northeastern Iran was reported to have the highest incidence of this cancer (206 and 262 per 100,000 person-years among males and females) in the world. The risk of acquiring cancer of the esophagus is 20 times higher among residents of China as compared to those residing in Western Africa. The incidence of this type of cancer in Taiwan is 9 per 100,000 in 2006 while in Jiangsu, China, incidence is 30 per 100,000 in 1990-1992. The wide difference in incidence rates in different geographic regions suggests that environmental factors may play a role in the etiology of this disease.

Aside from geographic region, several factors may increase one’s risk of developing cancer of the esophagus. Alcohol consumption increases the likelihood of developing esophageal cancer. The more alcoholic beverage a person consumes, the higher the risk for developing the disease. Similarly, tobacco consumption is also associated with this cancer type. Tobacco consumption brings nitrosamines in contact with the walls of the esophagus which induces carcinogenesis or development of cancer cells. Like alcohol consumption, the risk of acquiring this cancer increases with longer duration of smoking and higher consumption of tobacco products per day. If heavy alcohol consumers are tobacco users as well, the risk for esophageal cancer increases up to 20 to 50 times as compared to those who are non-smokers and non-alcoholic beverage drinkers.

Certain diseases, conditions and medical procedures may also predispose one to developing esophageal cancer such as achalasia, esophageal diverticuli, caustic injury to the esophagus, and history of radiotherapy in the mediastinum. Socio-economic status may also play apart in developing esophageal cancer. Black Americans in the low-income bracket were shown to be 8.0 times more likely to acquire this type of cancer as compared to those in high-income brackets.

How can we prevent esophageal cancer? Scientists recommend consuming food rich in high fiber such as whole grain cereals, fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. Research on the effects of green tea suggests that regular consumption may prevent this type of cancer. Of course, quitting cigarette smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages moderately will definitely prevent one from developing this imperiling disease.

Cancer Treatment

It’s a well known fact that there is no fail-proof or definitive treatment for most types of cancer. Unavailability of cancer treatment is what makes cancer so dreaded.

Cancer treatment and research

There have been improvements in cancer treatment techniques that are being used and some new cancer treatment techniques have yielded good results; however, there is nothing like a complete cure for most types of cancer.

Cancer treatment – old and new methods

Apart from these cancer treatment methods, there are other cancer treatment procedures that are being put to use quite effectively – one such cancer treatment is the use of Tamoxifen in hormone based cancer treatment.

Cancer treatment, prevention and detection

With regards to cancer detection, the most important thing is to increase your knowledge about cancer, cancer symptoms, cancer treatment etc.

Cancer Treatment Centers

The medical term for cancer is malignant neoplasm. Diagnosis of cancer typically requires obtaining a tissue specimen from the patient by a doctor. If you’re diagnosed with a form of cancer then you certainly want to contact a cancer treatment center through your doctor and obtain the treatment that is right for you. occurs all the time. This help to enable the development of new cancer treatments. Clinical trials by treatment centers of new cancer treatments on patients is performed when warranted. Cancer treatment centers are located in the majority of metropolitan areas. The treatment centers normally provide research treatment options to participating cancer patients in the center’s research studies.

The cancer treatment centers provide professional care and support to the cancer patient. By doing some research by the patient or patient’s representative, a cancer treatment center can be located that provides traditional and non-traditional treatment as desired by the cancer patient.

All cancer treatment centers, whether public or private, wants to provide the appropriate care and support to each cancer patient and their family. Depending on the cancer patient’s situation, the treatment center can be a private facility and does not have to be a sterile hospital environment.

Treatment of and the Risks of Relapse

The treatment of lymphatic cancer comprises a wide variety of immunosuppressant medications as well as a series of specific cancer therapies. Patients with lymphoma are often prescribed combination treatments, receiving carefully established doses of cancer medications according to age, gender and more important, the type of lymphatic cancer and its stage of progression. Under-treatment of lymphoma has been recently identified as a significant cause of relapse among lymphoma sufferers. Although the doses of lymphatic cancer medications can be slightly adjusted over the period of administration, under-treatment of lymphatic cancer should be avoided at all costs.

Paradoxically, fast progressing Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma subtypes, as well as Hodgkin’s Disease are more curable than slower progressing lymphomas. If the treatment is delayed, prematurely stopped or prescribed in the wrong doses, the risks of relapse are considerably increased and the afflicted patients rarely respond to re-treatment.

Recent studies conducted in randomly chosen medical establishments nationwide have revealed very disturbing facts regarding the treatment of lymphoma patients: around 50 percent of patients with highly curable forms of lymphoma receive considerable dose reductions during chemotherapy. The initially decided doses of medications shouldn’t be reduced unless the patients with lymphoma are confronted with severe side-effects.

Outsmart Your Cancer: Alternative Non-Toxic Treatments That Work (Second Edition) – With Audio CD Transcript

This well-written book details safe, alternative cancer treatments that are obtainable NOW. It clearly explodes the myths about alternative cancer treatments and explains why non-toxic methods are often more effective than conventional toxic ones.

Dr. W. John Diamond, co-author of An Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Cancer, wrote: “If you want to consider using alternative and complementary medicine for yourself or a loved one’s cancer, this is the book to read first!”

Dr. Julian Whitaker, founder of the Whitaker Wellness Institute, wrote: “. . . This book gives patients and their loved ones an action plan for evaluating conventional and alternative treatments as well as offering a measurable dose of hope.”

Outsmart Your Cancer not only provides some of the best alternative treatment information on the market, but also provides the reader with chapters about other key issues for recovering from cancer as well. One of these enlightening chapters is a one-of-a-kind presentation on the dangers of hormone-blocking drugs given to men for prostate cancer and why those drugs may reduce a man’s chances for recovery, rather than improve them. The book is also the definitive source of information for the amazing liquid cancer treatment called Protocel, which has produced countless incredible recoveries over the past twenty years, many of which were achieved by people with stage four cancer who were given NO hope by conventional medicine!

An unsolicited Amazon.com reviewer wrote: “I credit Outsmart Your Cancer with the cure of my cancer in three areas: lung, tonsil and neck. I was given a 5 to 15% chance of living by a panel of oncologists. As a result of using the Protocel formula along with this book as a guide, I have survived for more than three years and now have NO evidence of cancer according to repeated CT scans!”

A written transcript of the Audio CD that comes with the paperback book is included with this Kindle Edition. The transcript includes a discussion by the author and also presents twelve ordinary people describing how they “outsmarted” their cancer using one or more of the approaches in the book. Incredible real-life cases presented in this inspiring transcript include recoveries from:

• metastasized ovarian cancer • localized prostate cancer • metastasized prostate cancer to the bones • advanced stomach cancer • bladder cancer • localized breast cancer • breast cancer after lumpectomy • metastasized breast cancer to the bones • metastasized lung cancer • childhood brain cancer • childhood leukemia and • melanoma.

And many more real-life recoveries from other types of cancer are presented in the book!

In this book, readers will learn about the top 21 alternative approaches to cancer and how to use them for best results. The bulk of the book is about non-toxic treatments available to cancer patients who want to avoid toxic treatments such as chemotherapy, but extra valuable information is also presented, such as:

* An explanation of the unique characteristics common to all cancer cells that can be exploited to “outsmart” cancer.

* What women need to know about their hormones and cancer and whether they should take hormone-blocking drugs like Tamoxifen or not.

* What men need to know about prostate cancer, testosterone, and the PSA, and why taking hormone-blocking drugs such as Lupron or Casodex can actually make their chances for a complete recovery worse.

* How to evaluate mainstream conventional treatments (surgery, chemotherapy and radiation) and what specific questions to ask your oncologist about the treatment being recommended to you.

* The most comprehensive presentation of any book on the market for the remarkable liquid formula called PROTOCEL®: Its history, how it works, and how to use it properly plus a plethora of inspiring testimonials from people who successfully used PROTOCEL®.

* And much, much, more!

Lymphatic Cancer ( Lymphoma )

Lymphatic ( Lymphoma ) is a cancer in the lymphatic cells of the immune system. Typically, lymphomas present as a solid tumor of lymphoid cells.

Thomas Hodgkin published the first description of Lymphatic cancer (lymphoma) in 1832, specifically of the form named after him, Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It introduced the (NHL), divided into 16 different diseases. The latest classification by the WHO (2008) lists 70 different forms of lymphoma divided in four broad groups.

Although older classifications referred to histiocytic lymphomas, Lymphatic cancer are recognized in newer classifications as of B, T or NK cell lineage.

A number of various different classification systems exist for lymphoma. Some forms of Lymphatic cancer are categorized as indolent (e.g. small lymphocytic lymphoma), compatible with a long life even without treatment, whereas other forms are aggressive (e.g. Burkitt’s lymphoma), causing rapid deterioration and death.

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma or Lymphatic cancer (formerly Hodgkin’s disease)

Named after the Doctor, Thomas Hodgkin, who first identified the disease in 1832, Hodgkin’s lymphoma ( Lymphatic cancer )is one of the most common among younger people, although still relatively rare. It affects young adults aged between 15 and 35, and adults over the age of 55. More men than women are affected. The disease, although aggressive, can be successfully treated in about 80 per cent of cases.

It is defined by the presence of a large, abnormal B-lymphocyte cell. (This is called a Reed-Sternberg cell.) B-lymphocytes are produced in the body in response to invasion by a foreign body. This could typically be a virus or bacterium, but could include a toxin or a chemical.

Organs that have lymphoid tissue

Because lymphoid tissue is in many parts of the body, lymphatic cancer can start almost anywhere. The major sites of lymphoid tissue are:

Lymph nodes: Lymph nodes are bean-sized organs throughout the body that are connected by a system of lymphatic vessels. These vessels are like veins, except that instead of carrying blood, they carry lymph and immune system cells.

Lymph nodes get bigger when they fight infection. Lymph nodes that grow in reaction to infection are called reactive nodes or hyperplastic nodes and are often tender to the touch. An enlarged lymph node is not always a sign of a serious problem. People with sore throats or colds often feel enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. But a large lymph node is also the most common sign of lymphoma. Lymph node enlargement is discussed more in the section, ”

How is non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosed?

Spleen: The spleen is an organ under the lower part of the rib cage on the left side of the body. An average adult spleen weighs about 5 ounces. The spleen makes lymphocytes and other immune system cells to help fight infection. It also stores healthy blood cells and filters out damaged blood cells, bacteria, and cell waste.

Thymus gland: The thymus lies behind the upper part of the breastbone and in front of the heart. Before birth, the thymus plays a vital role in development of T lymphocytes. The thymus shrinks and becomes less important over the first 20 years of life. Despite this, it continues to play a role in immune system function.

Adenoids and tonsils: These are collections of lymphoid tissue at the back of the throat. They help make antibodies against germs that are breathed in or swallowed. They are easy to see when they become enlarged during an infection or if they become cancerous.

Digestive tract: The stomach and intestines as well as many other organs also have lymphoid tissue.

Bone marrow: The bone marrow (the soft inner part of certain bones) makes red blood cells, blood platelets, and white blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Platelets plug up small holes in blood vessels caused by cuts or scrapes. White blood cells’ main job is fighting infections. The 2 main types of white blood cells are granulocytes and lymphocytes. Bone marrow lymphocytes are primarily B cells. Lymphatic cancer sometimes start from bone marrow lymphocytes.

There are 5 different types of Hodgkin’s lymphoma or Lymphatic cancer.   These 5  types are based on the way they look under a microscope.

  1. Nodular sclerosing Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
  2. Mixed cellularity Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
  3. Lymphocyte depletion Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
  4. Lymphocyte-rich classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
  5. Nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The Lymphatic System and Cancer: Mechanisms and Clinical Management (Frontiers of Radiation Therapy and Oncology) (v. 28)

We are entering a new era of understanding the lymphatic system based on important insights from experimental investigations and clinical trials. To achieve a cure, cancer therapies (whether by surgery, radiotherapy or systemic means) must be directed against the routes of cancer spread. The management of the regional lymphatic/lymph nodes, often the first site of involvement, is frequently a key decision in defining modern treatment programmes. Important new insights now challenge the basis of traditional cancer therapy recommendations. This volume brings together foremost authorities to outline the latest results in the management of the lymphatic system in cancer.

Clinical Lymphatic Mapping of Gynecologic Cancer

The first comprehensive text of lymphatic mapping in gynecological cancers, Clinical Lymphatic Mapping of Gynecologic Cancer, provides a historical perspective, an understanding of the associated modalities of pathology and diagnostic imaging, a disease site-specific review of the literature, and step-by-step descriptions of how to identify sentinel nodes. The text is fully illustrated, allowing readers to grasp the techniques as well as the analysis of the results. The editors address the entire breadth of the topic, making this an ideal reference source for newly qualified professionals and students in gynecological oncology

Lymphatic Cleansing (Helping Hands, 2)

Whether your body is battling cancer, or any number of diseases or disorders, manual stimulation of the lymph system will help you maintain a greater degree of health. The lymphatic system, designed to cleanse and detoxify body cells, is perhaps your greatest ally during the treatment phase surrounding cancer. However, when lymphatic tissue or lymph nodes have been damaged, destroyed or removed, normal lymph drainage is compromised. Through this nurturing Lymphatic Cleasing meditation, enhanced with soothing melodies and calming rhythms, you will learn to reactivate sluggish lymph glands, as your body creates new pathways for channeling and purifying the body’s waste products.
